  1. Talk about the time her new husband and his best friend DP’d you after that school dance…..

Ok, ok, that was bad, even for me!

theres a website, something like http://www.thebestmanspeech.com it may ot be exactly what you are looking for but should give you some ideas. as for talking in public the best bit of advice i heard was imagine everyone naked! remember your audience is only human, relate to that chick

OMG i was too the maid of honor and my dumb a$$ chose to wing it! So write it down!! I say to start out humorous make them all laugh with a funny story or what not…then end it with something sappy to make the bride tear a bit! OH and drink some beers or champagne first LOL i took my beer up, had sunglasses on and made the best man stay up there with me!! So make sure you write it down…even if you KNOW it perfectly! it gets nerve racking when everyones staring at you! GOOD LUCK and congrats to your friend

Speeches come easy for me. I’ve had to give a few of these.

    Here’s my formula:

Start off with something funny about them. Nothing too personal though, and nothing that will take a long time to explain. Just something that will make the audience laugh. Then go into sappy mode and tell what they have meant to you, and what you see when they are together.

The audience loves to laugh at speeches, but the bride and groom want to hear something good and emotional.

Don’t make it too long. A couple of minutes maximum.

Oh, and don’t read off of cards. It’s pretty lame. I once saw a girl reading off of a paper, and her hands were shaking because she was nervous, and the paper was shaking ALL OVER THE PLACE. Everyone could see it and it was really embarrassing for her.

The only other advice you need is: Practice! Seriously- if you rehearse this a few times you will do much better. If you have the opportunity to rehearse with a microphone, this will also help out tremendously because the first time you speak into the mic, you will be really distracted by the sound of your voice through the giant speakers! My first speech, I almost forgot my whole speech because I was so distracted by my voice!

    Good luck.
